Ye Gads, Fake Photos

Posted in Trannie Stuff by Rachel on the July 16th, 2007

It seems there’s a cauldron of trouble brewing in the AngelFlickr group around the issue of fake photos.

Joanne has a post about a dabate going on right now, although maybe that word would be too grand a description.

I’ve made my position quite clear on other occasions, but my comments weren’t particularly well received, although that was more about the method of dealing with it than the “crime” itself. But this is my blog so here goes…

I don’t frequent trannie photo communities as I’ve never attached much importance to my own, or other people’s frocked up, fotos. No sanctimonious sermons here, it doesn’t do a lot for me really, although I can appreciate a lot of the end results. And, as I’ve mentioned before, quite a few people have commented on the lack of a gallery on this site. And in an attempt to please these folk I did set up a link from this site to my Flickr account, but even that’s remained almost totally inactive.

Mind you, when I turned 50 last year I did promise myself a photoshoot, you know, someone who’d know what they were doing combined with a brilliant make-up artist. But even that’s almost fallen by the wayside - although there’s another 4 months to go…

Getting back to the point, when other girls become indignant about these “questionable” piccies I can’t help feeling it’s not worth getting over-excited about. Sorry, but haven’t we all got better things to do than worry about those that feel the need to do this sort of thing.

Now, where someone has used copyright images of someone else (and I’m referring to copyright in its strict legal sense) then I see no reason not to inform the legal owner and let them decide what to do about it.

And of course, for those running groups like AngelFlickr if the moderators say the rules are that no fake/doctored photos should be uploaded then those are the rules. And then if people flout these I see no reason why they shouldn’t be excluded. Afterall, those that made the effort to set up such a group have the right to enforce their own rules. And in Joanne I feel they have a very fair-minded moderator.

Anyhoos, for those interested in the plot regarding any alleged machinations why not take a look here. :)

There’s also a wicked skit on The Trannie Heirarchy Game ala Brucie. Checkout the recent posts.

The Drag Queens

Posted in Trannie Stuff by Rachel on the April 6th, 2007

Anyone else see this programme on ITV1 last night at 11pm?

The interest, for me, was in having been to the Birdcage nightclub in Leeds, allbeit a few years ago. Well, it was an opportunity to get to know these characters a little better and find out what has been happening at the club.

First of all the drag queens were interviewed and seen getting ready for their performances. Next we saw the Choreographer, a sweet RG, going through a few practice sessions with the troupe. TBH, the standard of the dance was pretty low - my wife, an ex-dancer, pulled it to pieces. On the other hand, I don’t think the audience at these sort of venues would be too critical.

Next, we found out what the future plans of the company were. An additional £2m venue in Manchester - looked as though it was close to the Arndale centre. Problems complained of were tradesman not thinking about the practicalities of trannies putting on make-up in the loos. Come on, what self-respecting tradesman is going to have that kind of foresight? That was the job of the club owners at the planning stage, yeah?

After that, the club manager interviewed a few trannies for the extra drag queens that would be needed. I’ve no idea whether this new club is up and running - anyone know anything about it?

IMPORTANT: next week (same time, same channel) one of the drag queens is going to give a demonstration of how she transforms herself.

I feel this programme had some personal interest, because I could relate to my impressions of the club in Leeds, but it certainly wasn’t a programme you could use as a launchpad for explaining to the wife/girlfriend that you were a trannie. She’d be thinking you were a raving queer (not that I have anything against raving queers) it’s just that all the drag queens were very camp… in the best tradition of course.

I’ll be watching the final part next week, if I remember…

Since writing this I’ve taken a look at the Birdcage website and discovered the Manchester venue has already opened so there you go.

BNO 20

Posted in Trannie Stuff by Rachel on the March 11th, 2007

I was supposed to be somewhere else Friday evening, but realised all my gurly gear was down at Vanessa’s, and the thought of driving down there then back over to Derby was all too much. And as the gurl in question and I hadn’t confirmed the details I, rather guiltily, decided to go to BNO instead.

This meant mentioning the trip the night before to my wife who in her usual supportive way just looked a bit put out, but didn’t make a fuss about it. TBH, part of my reason for such a late decision to go was down to a severe financial crap situation - but I won’t bore the little cotton socks off your feet about that. Let’s just say the decision was the right one if only that it succeeded in raising my spirits - massively. That and the fact that V picked up the tab for the evening and all I had to do was find the petrol money to get to Kettering.

As on previous occasions, I didn’t get away in time and ended up being late, but then with two accidents on the A14 V was late too, so we ended up arriving at her flat within minutes of each other.

Of course, as I’d left the decision to go ’til the night before I had all the hair removal to do at V’s. Yup, Rachel makes us late again. That and the fact that the prom dress I’d intended wearing would’nt stay up due to having lost a few pounds (wayhey!). So all change, and I fell back on a fifties style strapless dress. There will be photos added to this entry, but later. That’s another story I’ll tell you about later. BTW, if you’re a size 14 and looking for a deep red satin prom dress let me know - I’ll have to get togged up and take a piccie, but you’ll have to imagine yourself in it to do it justice.

As we were running so late and because this was the first proper trip in V’s new Jag XK (4.2 litre V8 coupe) she put it through its paces for me. Speeds attained will be a closely guarded secret, but what I will say is… AWESOME! And on the way there we didn’t even go into sport mode.

Because we were so late getting there, we had to park well away from Pink Punters and walk. Boy was I glad V lent me a coat! We headed for the attic and Siobhan (of Tranniefesto fame) motioned me over. We exchanged a few pleasantries, but I found it a bit awkward, made my excuses and moved over to the bar. Anyway, she seems to have had an eventful evening, according to her blog, but I didn’t see her again.

Last month, I talked to gurls all evening, but this month it seems to have been all girls, with them initiating the conversations. So hi to Linda and her girlfriend, and a gurlfriend of theirs, Gina. After that, V and I went down to the dancefloor and boogied to some 80’s numbers. OK, they may have been cheesy, but at least even I with my non-existent sense of rythem could follow the beat. Once the music hit a more modern flavour we returned to the attic where we met another bunch of people. Hi, Chryssy, Michelle and your flat-mate whose name I can’t remember - well I think I was at Bacardi and Coke number 6 by then so please forgive me.

But they were a lovely bunch, and what with the drink inside me fuelling a much more tactile Rachel I really chilled out. A little later V got talking to Jett, and I ended up chatting to her gorgeous girlfriend whose name, I think, was Lark, given name anyway. She had short skirt with skull and crossbones on her bum and black corset. She claimed to be a 10 but I reckon probably a 6 or 8. We ended up paying each other loads of complements, and it all got quite touchy-feeley, but in a nice way. She kept apologising for being pervy with me (her words, not mine) while I just enjoyed the whole experience. But look, it wasn’t a groping session, it was just, well nice in a flirty sort of way.

We ended up swapping shoes (we’re the same size). She had these platform black patent type shoes, open-toed, with a bow on the front and long, long ribbons that wrapped round the ankle several times. It was great fun taking them off her, and as soon as I’d got them on I escaped for a wonder round - really, really comfortable. She wasn’t so impressed with mine as although they were only two-and-a-half-inch heels they were still stilettoes, which she wasn’t keen on. I can’t remember what designer label hers were, but it registered they wouldn’t have been cheap.

I remember Lark insisting I put her shoes back on her, and I found it quite sensual, tying up the ribbons round her ankles - silly old fart that I am! Which reminds me Lark was quite right when she asserted women were far more sensual than men. Which would certainly be one very good reason why I dress in women’s clothing - I love the feeling of sensuality that I just don’t get from wearing men’s clothes.

Anyway, we took quite a few photos of the group, but I left the camera on the table when we left so I’ll have to post them here once I’ve picked up the camera from Pink Punters - some kind soul handed it in, whoever you are let me know and I’ll buy you a drink.

And finally, Chryssy, thanks for letting me know the camera had been handed in to “lost property”. :) Oh, and Michelle, loved that gorgeous corset.

And really the final thing, Julie you missed a great evening - another time maybe?

BNO 19

Posted in Trannie Stuff by Rachel on the February 13th, 2007

vr-bno-19.jpgFor those of you who don’t know, BNO stands for The Big Night Out and is a TV Chix event hosted by Jennifer English and Simon Ross. I went to my first one in November last year and ran into Pam who lives but 2 miles away from me!

But before we get into what happened at the club, I must tell you about a couple of ‘firsts’ I had before we arrived. OK, if this sounds a bit Trannie Checklisty just get over it, coz it probably is. :)

Having left Vanessa’s, with me being crammed in the back of her new XK, we headed off to Sainsburys to get some dosh from the ATM. But by the time we got there I was in agony from being squeezed into the back seats, and having to double up coz of lack of headroom. Of course, the waist clincher I was wearing didn’t help!

Anyhow, by the time we reached the ATM I’d successfully pleaded to be taken back to pick up my car. Now, Rachel’s never been to an ATM  before, let alone in a shiny gold lycra mini-dress and 4″ strappy sandals, so Jan (V’s husband) came with me, bless him. Just as well really. A group of lads aged about 16-19 turned up and all I got out of them were a few cheeky grins.

The second first (if you see what I mean) was filling up at a petrol station, and paying in the shop. This time I was the only one about and Jan stayed in the Jag while I went into pay. I have to say, I was a little bit nervous, but it was a lady serving and I just spoke naturally and we exchanged a few words about the freezing cold weather. That was it, no big deal!

Getting back to BNO, the place was heaving with trannies. We made our way to the top floor and found a place to sit. At least the club has a floor that’s not so noisy, because trying to hold a conversation on the floor below is well nigh impossible.

Now I’ve heard it said by some (who shall remain nameless, unless they wish to own up) that BNO is a meat market, but to those who feel this way I’d just say, “But a very nice one, nevertheless”. I mean, first time to the bar I had my arse felt by a gurl, and when I turned round her friend denied responsibility and explained she would have grabbed it much more firmly, and proceeded to demonstrate. Two feel ups and before I’d got to the bar. Personally, I feel they were overcome by the dress, not the contents.

And before I could get away from the bar a another gurl stopped to chat (hi Jodie) and assaulted my ears with compliments (very strange) but it only transpired that she wanted sex with someone, and when I explained it wouldn’t be with me to her credit she didn’t try to escape so we chatted for quite a while - actually I got to like her honest approach to life in general - nice gurl. Anyway,  hopefully you found what you were looking for hon. ;)

I was having all sorts of problems with my boobs going South and was cursing having bought a very expensive pair of self-adhering ones, but when I got back to V’s it became apparent that the dress was playing a major part in their downfall. Note to self: wear a strapless bra next time… and lose a few pounds (working on it).

I had a 10am meeting so called it a day at 03:45. Up at 07:00 and away by 08:30.

Must do another BNO real soon. :)

Glam Your Man

Posted in Trannie Stuff by Rachel on the February 12th, 2007

The Glam Your Man CompetitionWhile I was checking out www.rimmellondon.com, a site Julie had put me onto this morning (for something else) I came across the “Glam Your Man” competition.

Tell me if I’m wrong, but do you reckon there’s more than one tranny in the Gallery?

Next, I got to thinking about uploading one of my own? What do you reckon? Anyone else brave enough to play?
