Stick It In The Family… Album

Posted in General by Rachel on the January 22nd, 2008

Partner and D1 (stands for eldest daughter) have gone darn sarf for an interview at Essex Uni tomorrow. And on the way back they pick up a whole bunch of photos from my aunt.

Really excited about getting hold of these, scanning them and uploading to my manly Flickr account. Of course, I’m not telling you where that is and they’ll be tagged for family viewing only, so there!

Problem is, I shouldn’t be doing anything with them as there’s too many other “things” going on right now. Gotta have a peek though. :)

With the family disappearing off to countries new I desparate for them to wake up to Flickr so we can all keep abreast of each others busy lives.

But a lot of them being teachers, or ex-teachers, I’m wondering if they can cope with all this “new” technology.

We’ll see…

Darn sarf? Is that the opposite of oop neurth? ;-)

Oooo…. a new template! BTW the Google ads on the side - I’m being asked about John Wayne Photos. How did that come up? :-D

I think that things like Flickr, bebo and facebook are great for keeping in touch with distant rellies. They somehow seem less me-me-me than an email with photos attached.

I hope you enjoy the snaps… and maybe some time alone at home…. :-)

Geographics: Darn Sarf/oop neurth - you got it :)

Templates: Been kicking myself for ages to bring the wp template in line with the rest of the site. Yeah, the ads can throw up some interesting results, but never seen John Wayne before!

Social networking: Given up on Facebook - too many people wanting me to use all these different apps - as one person said to me, “Facebook is for students and kids”. I think that’s a bit too much of a generalisation, but I don’t have time for all these different networks. TV Chix and Flickr will do me fine right now, plus a few blogs I like reading. Otherwise I’d never escape this screen!

Time alone at home: Chance would be a fine thing, although I have the house to myself this afternoon. I’ll be practicing my eyeliner skills. :)
