- Finally made it to a Transtastic Event on Thursday (only been on
my TO DO list since last October!).
Arrived about 9.30 and found Penny who I’d been emailing for
only a few days previously, ordered a much needed drink and joined her group,
and a very friendly bunch they were including a father (en femme) and daughter.
Couldn’t decide if I could be bothered to change, but on the
promise of moving on to a club and Penny’s offer of her place to change back
afterwards the decision was made.
Well, the change only took half-an-hour (brilliant for me)
so then a group of us decided it was off to ‘Down Town’ in Wakefield. This
was my first time walking through a town centre (other than Manchester’s Gay
Village, but that don’t count) and all I can say is Thank God I was with Penny
who gave off just the right amount of self-confidence to put off any idiots
that might want to cause trouble. However, there was virtually no one about
so that was OK.
As you’ll probably have guessed Down Town is a Gay Club and
very TG friendly. And of course being Gay they knew how to have fun. Plenty
of loud music even when sitting ‘at the back’.
Being the one driving I was on Coke, but I did have a sip of
Nikki’s drink, ‘Fluffy Navel’- vodka, Archers, and orange juice. WOW! One
of those and I’d have been flat on my back - amazingly nice though.
However,
when I saw what Penny had ordered I declined the offer of a taster - it looked
like that stuff you pour down drains then it expands and cleans!
Bit of dancing, bit of chatting, visit to the ‘ladies’, bit
more dancing - you get the picture. Oh, yes, and a few piccies taken - now
there’s a surprise!.
A couple of clubbers came over to show their appreciation of
us and to welcome us to come again, and no doubt we’ll oblige.
About 1.30am we decided to call it a night and drove back to
Leeds. Back at Penny’s place black coffee was provided for the journey home,
but what with Penny’s girlfriend and her friend arriving in from another Club
we got chatting and I ended up leaving at 5am!
Don’t know how I stayed awake ’til arriving back in Lincoln,
but there I was and completely wrecked and useless - very little work done
that day!
So, thanks to all for a great time and hopefully next trip

16/05/01
- The long awaited day had arrived. Since my last trip to Kettering
to see Vanessa I’d been gradually getting more and more excited at the thought
of going out again with her to the launch of PORN - a monthly extravaganza
at Kudos nightclub in Leicester’s City Centre.
Being a bit better organised (for a change) I painted my toe
nails (grape sorbet by Rimmel - Rusty’s shade of lipstick, but a bit darker)
during the morning.
After that, out came the Immac to do the under arms. You may
be wondering why, because I’m wearing a catsuit in all the pictures, but I
had been undecided about what to wear.
In fact, that was the reason we were so late getting to the
Dover Castle, the pub where the pre-launch warm up was taking place, but I’ll
get back to that.
Having carried out those few feminine tasks it was back to work
for the rest of the day allbeit with my mind on the evening to come.
5.30pm
saw me packing the suitcase in the car and heading off down the A1 to Peterborough
and then Kettering.
As arranged, I picked up a chinese readymeal for two and arrived
at Vanessa’s about 7.30pm just in time to catch her coming out of the bath
dripping wet in pre-beautification mode.
I think she’d got fed up with waiting for me. This has been
known to happen before, and I take all the credit.
The meal was very welcome, and we had soon caught up on the
gossip over a cup of tea afterwards.
Again,
choosing what to wear was proving awkward what with the distraction of Vanessa’s
wardrobe, so in the end I went for my trusted catsuit, and a pair of River
Island strappy sandals in Pink and dimante, they’re geogeous!
Of course, taking so long and arriving so late meant we didn’t
get to The Dover Castle for the pre-launch party, but a guy called Jamie came
along for the ride and gave us directions to PORN. Jamie’s a lovely guy and
Vanessa and I spent quite a bit of time with him at PORN.
Other than that there were a few Drag Queen’s who lived up to
their reputation for bitchiness, but they were OK with us and when we met
them in the Ladies later the bitching moved up a gear, but it was fun!
Vanessa and I may well go back again some time in the future,
but I hope it will be a bit fuller, though it’s a big venue and it needs a
big crowd to make it look full - it has promise though…
