March 2003

05/03/03 - Another trip to North Notts Trans Action group for their monthly meeting.

This time I'd arranged with Sally Jo to go together. Sally Jo picked me up, but we had to go back, because I'd forgotten my make-up bag, silly me.

Traffic was terrible so it took nearly an hour and a half, but the time passed quickly enough.

We took it in turns to change once we'd arrived. I think there were about fourteen of us, the numbers seem to grow month on month, which is a good sign.

Having settled down with a cup of tea while Sally Jo went up to change, it took an effort to get upstairs to begin the transformation come my turn.

In the end I settled on a cotton pink pencil skirt, red sleeveless T-shirt, black tights and low heeled black suede shoes.

We had some involved discussions including whether it was safer to go out in a group or alone. I think the more convincing T-Girls preferred to go it alone, and it has to be said these tended to be the TS girls. I can see their point. If they can pass why draw attention to themselves by being seen with possibly more flambouyant T-Girls who perhaps are not even bothered if they don't 'pass'.

These points led onto Charlie mentioning that a T-Girl known to the group had been assaulted in Nottingham while waiting for a taxi. A group of about eight lads set about a 62 yr old who ended up with a fractured femur caused by her spinning round to avoid one of her assailants. She ended up hospitalised.

"The Central", the pub the T-Girl had come out of have agreed that T-Girls can stand inside while waiting for their cabs.

It just goes to show that although T-Girls are becoming more accepted, there are still the neandertals about who just can't cope and need treatment - anyone got a spare electric chair? I think this would be ideal - not with a lethal current, but when attached to their balls, with enough to make them think twice before acting in such anti-social ways. Call me old fashioned if you will.

This time someone had a camera so we had a group photo taken with most of us in it. Shortly afterwards it was time to leave as Sally Jo had an early start in the morning.

14/03/03 - On the Tuesday before today (Friday) I went through with my plan to shave and wax my whole body with the exception of the parts one doesn't talk about in polite society.

The tricky thing I found were all those inaccessible places you don't realise exist! But with the help of my partner who, if I'm being fair, hadn't realised the full extent of the operation, I finally went hairless.

Silly really, but I was so excited. It meant I could wear just tan tights, off the shoulder dresses, in fact anything I could feel I would get away with!

So Friday afternoon I headed off to my friend Vanessa's house, because we were going out to "Stormes at the Pink Punters" in Bletchley. This was the launch night for Stormes at this venue, and I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

This may have had something to do with the night in December 2001 when I turned up at Stormes in London and won a bunch of flowers in a, dare I call it, beauty parade.

First time I've known someone win such an event wearing a black pvc catsuit, but there you go. And Andrea was the sweet person who pulled me out of the crowd to enter it - if you know me I would never have volunteered for it in a million years. But that kind but firm look in Andrea's eyes didn't allow for argument.

So where was I? Oh yes, on my way to Vanessa's. We dinner about 7pm, chatted a while and then went upstairs to dress.

Of course, with no chest hair this meant I could go braless (with glued on falsies) and wear a strapless dress. In the end I borrowed a mid brown dress with just one over the shoulder strap, no doubt you've already spotted it on this page.

And don't tights feel so different with bare, hairless legs. In the end I choose a semi sensible pair of black suede court shoes with two and a half inch heel - my best strategy for lasting the night without becoming a cripple!

Vanessa wore a lovely off the shoulder black dress, and showing as much leg as I was. I think this girl likes that sort of thing and I can't say I disagree with her choice in clothes!

Anyway, not bad for us, we set off for Bletchley about just gone 10pm.

First thing I noticed when we got there was all the familiar faces of girls I'd already met or talked to or seen posts from in internet groups like UK Angels.

Almost as soon as we walked through the door Andrea, the hostess, greeted us and had a photo taken with us. I ordered the drinks and the evening began.

Not long after we arrived the caberet began and Miss Bella Beserk went into action along with Miss Crystal Clear - your typical near the knuckle drag act - "but all in the best possible taste, Kenny".

A couple of real girls caught my eye with their dance moves and stetsons they were wearing, and so after a while I asked if I could borrow the red stetson. Julie obliged and then so did Jackie with her leopard skin print one. Vanessa and I had to have our photos taken with them on and then we persuaded the two girls to have theirs taken with us. They were great fun and their husbands didn't mind either, oops!

After a few bacardi and cokes (anybody counting) we moved upstairs to the ground floor bar where I found the Foxy Friends UK girls, Karen, Chrissy and Della.

We ended up dancing every few minutes unable to pass up the chance to dance to all the great 70's and 80's classics along with more contemporary numbers like "Murder on the dance floor" and "sk8ter boy".

I chatted to Chrissy for a long time, she lives only eight miles from where I spent the first fourteen years of my life, and learnt that she and some friends are planning a T-Girl holiday abroad this year, probably Ibiza, lucky things.

Towards the end of the evening, no make that morning, Andrea and I propped up the bar putting the world to rights, and that was when I met the scottish Lord, Hamilton, who turned out to be Julie's partner. He said, the place was a refreshing change from the straight clubs with all their threat of drunken violence, and he assured me he'd be back again with Jackie and her partner whose name I never did find out. Anyway they were really nice people and certainly hope they're there next time I go, which will hopefully be 11/04/03.

Well, in case you couldn't tell we had a fabulous time and I'm still on a high just thinking about it now.

We got back to Vanessa's about 4.30am and crawled into bed just after five. Then up at 8.15am getting ready to return home!
