March 2000

25/03/00 - It was only 24 hours earlier that I knew I'd be able to come down to the Way Out Club, so the afternoon found me emailing my cyber friends to see if anyone could make it at such short notice.
In the end someone called Charlotte, who was really Lucy, said she might be able to make it - had never met Lucy, but spoke to her on the phone. Nice girl but couldn't decide if she would be going or not - left it open ended.

Arrived at the Club just after nine to discover not only was there going to be a fashion show, but also a regular FFF night as well.

For those of you, like me, who didn't know what a FFF night is it stands for (No! Not what you're thinking - honestly, wash your mouth out with soap) Fetish, Fashion, Fantasy of course!

Fortunately, the black PVC catsuit was packed, along with the red patent PVC ankle boots, so this was one lady who wasn't going to look out of place.
Before descending into the depths of the Club I signed up for membership of the Way Out and bought a copy of the eighth edition of "The Tranny Guide".

Unfortunately, Vicky Lee, one of the co-founders, was having technical difficulties with the printers and only had a few copies to distribute, and I already knew from the Website that people were keen to get hold of copies they had already ordered. I said I was happy to be sent one later, but Vicky said she would find a copy for me if I saw her later.

I really felt she was giving away a copy of which there were precious few available, but she gave no indication of this and I was beginning to feel she was a genuinely generous sort of person.

After that I popped into the changing room. The girls in the show were still rehearsing, so we shared the space. If you've read my diary entry for 4 March you'll know I wore the same catsuit, ankle boots, blonde bob along with blue lipstick and nail varnish. Well, if you like an outfit why not wear it to death?

The girls were still rehearsing so the few who had a arrived by now were treated to a pre-show performance. Adjacent to the dance floor is a large room with tables and chairs, where you can get away from the sound of the dancebeat and enjoy a drink and a bite to eat, not to mention a chat where you can hear each other speak!

There, I found Vicky at one of the tables and I asked if it was convenient to collect my copy of "The Guide". Not only was it convenient, Vicky invited me to sit down while she finished off what she was doing, then she went off to get my copy.

After that we chatted away for what seemed like ages, and there was never a hint of her needing to get away. In fact, several people needed to speak to her, but she just introduced them, dealt with their queries and occasionally disappeared to sort something out, leaving me to chat with those that had sat down as well.

One such person was Frazer, a member of the "Total Recall" team, with Stefan Whitfield and Karla (go to my links page and check out the Way Out Website to find out more about their Show). He's developing a Web design business based in London, so we had a lot of views to exchange.

He's been doing it for a year now, and already has a leading pop icon's Website to his credit, as well as doing Madame JoJo's site. I'm impressed!
Eventually, Vicky had to get ready for the Stage Struck Costume Show, and by now it was nearly 1.30am.

So it was off to the bar for another tonic water, ice and lemon, and who should I bump into but Lucy - yes she did make it with a few of her friends, but trying to talk with her on the dance floor was hopeless and she disappeared off into the crowd. So downing my drink I set off in search of the "ladies", the room that is.

Have you ever stood on a Northern Line underground station platform of a Friday rush hour? If so, you'll know what it felt like trying to get into the "ladies". Of course, this was the other place where you could hear yourself speak, but with the advantage of being able to check your make-up, powder your nose and re-apply your lipstick. That's the theory anyway!

If you needed the loo as well, you'd have had to triple cross your legs...
But this meant everybody was chatting, borrowing make-up and comparing notes, some of which fair had me blushing.

And talk about friendly, I don't think I've come across a more friendly TV venue and I've been to a few now. Of course, all the compliments about my outfit went down very well; thank you girls you're very sweet!

So, after talking in the loo for over an hour it was time to take off the make-up and get changed, clocks going forward an hour and all that, damn them!
The girls in the loo found it hard to believe I was changing to go home, but when you've got a couple of hundred miles to drive, you know it makes sense.

I understand next month it's Way Out's Birthday Party - whether I'll be able to make it down there remains to be seen, but if you get the chance to go don't miss out. I should think it'll be a great night out.
