A Little bit about the Bar Couture philosophy
Bar Couture was set up to give the transgendered community a safe and stylish place to go out and enjoy themselves as any accepted member of the community might, a place to go out on a Saturday before hitting one of the cities clubs, a place to meet friends and make new ones, a place to go out to and enjoy ourselves for a reasonable price in a safe, clean and stylish setting. Bar Couture will be held in various locations around the city carefully selected for their style and unique charm.
The Music
Musically we wanted an alternative to whats on offer on the scene, something a bit different, from funky big beats and jazzy hyip hop, through to northern soul and 60's classics, garage rock and on to underground funky and soulful house and bar grooves! We want to try and offer something thats not available in the scene. The music will vary from night to night depending on the DJs playing, it will always be interesting and varied to try and cater for all tastes. Whenever possible we have chosen DJs from within the community but not exclusively. If you are a DJ and looking for a venue to cut your teeth we encourage you to get in touch with us, as we are always on the lookout for new talent!
