08/02/07 - If you’re a trannie that’s reading this and also happens to go out and about too, then you’ll no doubt appreciate what I’m about to say.
I’d been planning my trip to BNO 31 well in advance (a welcome change for me) and had everything under control.
This morning I had the house to myself so running a bath and dealing with all the necessary defuzzing in a relaxed manner, with no worries about time was great.
I’d planned so far in advance that I had all my print-outs for the shops I was going to visit in Milton Keynes, addresses, opening hours etc. The plan was to checkout Debenhams for a coat, Matalan for skirts and tops and Brantano for comfortable ’shopping’ shoes - you know, not 5″ stilettoes.
I’d decided to travel light, an outfit for shopping and that red dress for BNO. I needed to set off at 2pm to allow me to change at the Travelodge in Milton Keynes, do a bit of shopping, and then get over to the Camponile to collect a new wig from Nikki and Tracey of Trans Femme.
I even managed to get away on time, and everything was going well ’til I hit queues on the M1 at junction 20. It took one and a half hours to get to junction 18 and my schedule was shot to pieces. I ended up going straight to the Camponile to pick-up the wig and onto the Travelodge. Poor old Victoria, who I was sharing a room with, was starving but hung on ’til I arrived. Because I was running so late I picked up a takeway Indian and we ate whilst getting ready.
It just seems that a disproportionate number of planned trips out get their timetables screwed up. In fact, I’ve decided it’s a trans thing. It’s the Trans Time Continum (TTC™) - a law that states whatever a T* Girl does all planned schedules disappear up their own err, you fill in the blanks.
Yet again our plans to catch a bus to BNO at Fenny Stratford were scuppered. Victoria loves using public transport as she’s a great believer in educating/entertaining the great unwashed.
Instead we ordered a taxi - boring.
We were going to have a drink in the Camponile bar with Nikki and Tracey, but since we didn’t arrive ’til 10pm we caught them leaving the hotel as we turned up.
Spent the night chatting to Ellie and Lyndsey and one or two others and consuming vast quantites of alchohol, which is fairly unusual for me! In fact, I had no right to feel as well as I did the next morning after only 4 hours sleep and not going to bed ’til 6.30am. Eeek! Great night out though :)
