Progress Me Thinks
Let me set the scene for those of you who aren't familiar with my TG situation.
Married 27yrs - in a few days time. My wife has known I'm TV for 26 years, I told her. She doesn't want to see me as Rachel, but is very supportive of me going out (since 1997 anyway).
She has never wanted to meet other TG girls or their partners.
Now my two daughters are away for the week and Vanessa (a TS friend) is working just down the road for a couple of weeks. So I decided to ask my wife if Vanessa could come over for a meal. Bless her she didn't freak, but I had to reassure her I wasn't going to change into Rachel, or talk in a squeaky voice. And she's agreed to it.
Vanessa comes over on Thursday evening. I'll let you know if it works out or turns into a complete disaster. Tomorrow evening we're off to see some mutual TG friends locally, but unfortunately I won't be able to go as Rachel. :(

Good luck Rachel!! Hope your wife gets on with Vanessa.If there's enough wine you should have a spiffing time.
Bad news - I had a blazing row with the half, over something quite trivial, and was so upset I cancelled Vanessa coming over, coz in my mood it'd be me that would've ruined the evening. :(
Turns out my wife was very strssed out coz of her parents moving house this coming Monday, and I was stressed out over some new work processes that were going very well until recently - folk let me down and now I'm having to do stuff others should have done two weeks ago. :(
So, hopefully, come Tuesday we'll all be in a better frame of mind.
Problem is it was the perfect opportunity, with both children on holiday. Never mind, another time maybe.
Rats.At least you know your partner is willing. Plan now for the next half term.
I have a theory. If there's something you are really looking forward to and you just can't wait to let others know, Fate slaps you accross the cheek witha wet pike and makes usre that you cant do what you want to do.
The moral: Do it first , then tell everyone.
Oh,and then duck.
