24/08/06 - Vanessa and I went out for a meal at the Saracen's Head, across the road from Southwell Minster. Had an excellent Carbonara. Wonderful leather armchairs and sofas to sink into. V showed me her new laptop. This is going to make a world of difference what with all her travelling round the country. Caught up on all the gossip. Staff were very attentive and polite. A very relaxing evening.
20/08/06 - Went shopping with the other half and, amongst other things, had a look at men's Eau de Toilette. Discovered that Calvin Klein One is a unisex smellie. My wife wears it and I really like it. Only problem is she's objected to me having it too. Mind you my daughters may ask too many awkward questions if I were to wear it too, so perhaps best not.
As for men's fragrances, those I've niffed so far have had an amazing likeness to disinfectent... need to keep looking!
17/08/06 - Cancelled Vanessa coming over for dinner - had a row with my wife over something totally unrelated and was too upset to have company round - would have been a miserable old git... things sorted now, just bad timing.
16/08/06 - Took a bottle of Bubbly round to Sarah and Sandra, watched a documentary they were involved with for the Discovery Health channel and had a look at their wedding photos album and generally caught up with their news. They are no longer running the local Beaumont Society's regional meetings for the area. Reckon that's left a gap.
15/08/06 - Vanessa popped round and we made arrangements for the rest of the week. Wednesday, visit Sarah and Sandra. Thursday, Vanessa to come for a meal and meet my wife for the first time. See Progress me Thinks.
05/08/06 - Just had some fantastic news! Vanessa is having a blessing ceremony in November and she's asked me to give her away. Definitely feel a new outfit coming on. :)
She's having it at the Rotherham Celebration Weekend so it's only just "up the road" from where I live, bless her.
