August 2003
19/08/03 - Wednesday, Six-fifty pm and I’d had enough of
two weeks worth of very stressful work life (is there any other?).
Nothing for it but to take myself off to Manchester, phoned friends in Glossop
requesting permission to stop, change and hit the Manchester Village - permission
granted.
Seven-fifteen pm walked out the door (no make that staggered) with my suitcase
and set off for Glossop.
An hour-and-a-half later I was changing. Borrowed a black goth top from Helena
with the word ‘Mistress’ in purple across the chest (oh, so you did
see me) popped on a pair of light tan leather trousers, 2 1/2″ black
suede shoes.
I did my make-up, but Helena did my eye-shadow, and what a difference it
made - she really knows how to blend to create a much more subtle effect -
definitely going to have to master that.
Arrived 11pm and went straight to Napoleons. It was a bit quiet so thought
of trying NewYorkNewYork, but no sooner thought it than Naps started filling
up.
Went to the bar and while waiting for a drink noticed a blonde real girl
in her twenties chatting with a group of T-Girls - very pretty, very cute.
We smiled and exchanged a few words.
Plenty of girls there now, but most of them were stood around chatting in
groups so popped upstairs, very quiet, but got talking to Susan from Newcastle.
Lucky girl, she travels the country for her work and somehow manages to end
up in Manchester every Wednesday - talk about job satisfaction!
While talking to Susan I noticed the blonde was now upstairs with her friends.
Eventually, we started chatting and it turned out her name was Heather, she
runs her own IT consultancy, and has lived in the Village for ten years -
I could have scratched her eyes out! Oh, and she’s not in her twenties - try
43!
I still can’t believe it! Brains, really cute-looking, blonde - and a really
healthy attitude toward gender issues. And single!!!
In case you hadn’t noticed she made an impression.
Well, all good things come to an end, and 2am saw me heading back to Glossop
to change before leaving for home at 3.30am. 5pm saw me tucked up in bed.
And 7am saw me up making tea.
Good job I don’t do it too often.
Never mind, I’m hoping to get to the Village on 20 September, but don’t hold
your breath!
