04/04/06 - The intention today was to get to Grantham around lunchtime to get some clothes shopping in before an afternoon appointment, but since when does the self-employed day go according to plan?
With the meeting finished about 5pm the drive to Kettering, to see Vanessa, was relatively quick, no hold-ups or congestion. I arrived just after 6:15pm and suggested changing before dinner, but Vanessa had been super efficient and the dinner was being removed from the oven as I took my bags upstairs.
Vanessa has been working all over the UK and consequently we've not seen each other for quite a few months. Inevitably, we ended up chatting and the time flew by - so in the end I never did get changed. Mind you I had come with the intention of asking her to take a few pictures of me for my shoe shopping web page.
And as soon as I suggested a photo session Vanessa dragged me upstairs to try on a few skirts I'd commented on in her wardrobe that looked quite classy. Of course, being a size 12 I didn't think It'd be worth attempting to get into them, but she insisted I try. To my surprise they fitted! I know I've lost half a stone, and boy did it feel good to able to get into them. You can see some of the piccies in the gallery to the right.
The evening passed by all too quickly and as I had to be up early next morning I left about half ten. Although, we didn't go out it was great just to catch up on gossip. Mustn't leave it so long, next time.
