And You Wonder Why We Don’t Talk About It

Found this thread on a Liphook Community Forum about an article printed recently in the Daily Mail. Said article seems to have been removed.

I’m far too busy right now, and probably will be for the next week, but expect a response from me the following week. I feel that a number of issues have been missed and need airing!

Possibly due to the amount of back links from Tranny sites? :-)

Like all stories, there are multiple angles in all of this. Sure, there’s The Mail, TG folk and the good folk of Liphook. In all of this, I think it’s all too easy – and I fall prey to this too – to forget that these are people we’re talking about.

I don’t mean just the TG contingent – we have an inkling to what they may be facing – but there’s the public too. What are they going through now the paper has forced them to look at a section of society they may not have thought about?

Like the Mail’s on-line comments, the Liphook thread has a variety of stances on the matter – most of them positive.

Agreed Lynn, but there are also arguments on both sides that only partly address the issues and raise others. For instance the perrinial answer that women cross dress so why shouldn’t men?

Leaving aside FTM transexuals, women aren’t cross-dressing. They accessorise to reaffirm their femeninity and make no attempt to convince others they are men, whereas the MTF crossdresser/transvestite/T-Girl is looking to emulate the female.

It’s these sort of arguments that do our cause no good at all. Why should the public take seriously/respect us if we’re not honest with ourselves?

But as I say, there are other issues I want to highlight when I get the time…
