Ordinary People's Views on Transvestism

After reading Becky's latest blog entry today - all about wanting to be different and preserving, if you like, the mystic or 'specialness' of being a transvestite I decided to have a surf around the Internet to dig up 'regular' folks views on the world of transvestism or, in fact, transgenderism in general.

It's not that I disagree with Becky (I mean would you want to tackle Becky's "evil side"), it's just that I can't help thinking that 'ordinary' folk just don't see us the way we'd like them to [pretty bloody obvious, Rachel].

So, off I went discoverring a guardian article from 2003 by Ian Sansom reviewing a book by Amy Bloom

Now, here we see some common themes being aired by your regular guy, a normal guy, who raises points I feel a lot of transvestites would like to dispute or ignore, preferring to retreat into their feminised view of the world.

...just going for some breakfast, but I'll be back to continue...

A blogging virgin...

Well, what can I say? The only reason I've succumbed to setting up a blog is coz to post a comment on Becky's one (www.beckysweb.co.uk) I've had to sign up at blogger .com.

But if you're going to tell me there was some other way to do it with out doing so I really don't want to know: Let's face no one likes these things pointing out, do they?

Glad we got that cleared up.

General Elections

OK, I have to admit to being pretty much apolitical so you have advance notice that I shall be studiously avoiding any kind of references, and if you, dear reader(well, if anyone did happen to pass by there might be one) , feel in the slightest bit inclined to make comment please do it over at www.siobhansplace.co.uk coz that's where it happening politically.

All I will say is that our letterbox has been rattling incessantly today - wonder how often we'll hear from the various political parties come May 6th?

Of transvestite matters (well, this is supposed to be a trannie blog!)

I suppose my transvestisism could be summed very neatly in the phrase "also a transvestite", because let's face it I'm also a father, son, brother, IT bod, sailor, cyclist, music lover, imbiber and a number of other things my wife calls me when she's not best pleased!

So, if I wonder off the trannie track, and you feel short-changed as a result why not take a look at the rest of the site - www.tvdreams.co.uk. Good night
